Beautiful hand-turned and hand-painted ceramic plate from Horezu. Painted according to the traditional Romanian method, which is listed as part of UNESCO's world heritage.

Once the pottery is fully modeled, it is hand-painted and several layers of paint are applied, creating beautiful, unique decorations.

After the first firing at 850-950 degrees, the ceramic is glazed with a water-based glaze. It is then dried and fired a second time at 1000-1100 degrees.

The ceramics were originally used as decoration.

The ceramic can also be used in table settings and is food-safe. We recommend washing it by hand to extend its shelf life.

The meeting between the clay and the many layers of color can create small crack-like lines. These are not to be considered errors. But normal to encounter in this type of pottery.
